Wharton Tiers: With over 35 years of experience writing, producing, playing and recording music, Wharton Tiers has the depth of knowledge to take on any project and bring out it's special qualities. Wharton ran Fun City Studios in Manhattan for 30 years where he recorded Gold Records for Helmet, Biohazard, and Sonic Youth, in addition to over 150 CD's and albums. Since then he has traveled to England, Spain, Turkey and China, connecting with Bands and Musicians everywhere to bring their sound to life. Although known for his work with alt-rock/noise Bands, Wharton loves all kinds of music, classical, ethnic, Jazz and Country. As a producer, he doesn't bring his own agenda to the music, but endeavors to work with each artist to discover what they are looking for, and helping them achieve those goals. As a musician and engineer, he can keep his eye (and ears) on the prize and help create projects that everyone can take pride in. Isn't that the point?

Paul has worked professionally as an audio engineer, producer, and musician for more than 20 years. He has been credited as producer, recording engineer, mastering engineer and/or musician on more than 100 comerically available albums across numerous musical genres, including electronic, rock, hip-hop, jazz, classical and new music. He has also mixed soundtracks for award-winning films and broadcast television programs, and have served as sound editor and mixer for several media companies, including HBO, Miramax, and MTV II. Paul has engineered for recording artists including Joe Jackson, Sufjan Stevens, The Animal Collective, Sean Lennon, and Antony Hegarty. Recent CD projects include Bang on A Can All-Stars, Philip Glass, Alarm Will Sound, Brecker Brothers Reunion Band, SF Jazz Collective, and the Death Commit Crew. He currently teaches at NYU Steinhardt in the Music Technology program and lives in Delhi NY, located near beautiful Bovina and Barkaboom Studio.

Paul Howells started recording in a friend's basement, just like everyone else, back in 2004. Since then, he has spent his time working and assisting all levels of the recording industry, as both a skilled sound engineer and a touring musician. He graduated from the Music Technology program at New York University in 2010, and while there had the pleasure of working with many renowned musicians, and along side several established mixing and mastering engineers. Since then, Howells has been working in and around New York City, doing everything from on-location concert recording, commerical voice-over recording and editing, and multichannel mixing and mastering. He is familiar with many different recording atmospheres and techniques, including ambisonic microphone arrays and working with tape. He also assisted on the design and installation of Harvestworks' Studio PASS, and has run the majority of the sessions there since joining them in March 2011.

As a youngster, Jedi's early influences were the field recordings of Alan Lomax, Smithsonian Folkways recordings, and early blues musicians Son House, Fred McDowell, John Hurt, Gary Davis, and Blind Blake. He also was introduced early on to the music of John Coltrane, Rahsaan Roland Kirk and Sun Ra. Later in his teens living close to nyc, he spent many a wondering night at the Fillmore East, The Capitol Theatre, Slug's and Max's Kansas city.. he went to Fairhaven College in Bellingham Washington in 1974 and studied Philosophy, Music, and Archeology. There he worked at the club Fast Eddies in the 70's booking local folk, rock, and blues bands and African musical acts inspired by Dumi a Zimbabwan professor at University of Washingtons School of Ethnomusicology.

Returning from Washington In the late 70's and early eighties Jedi frequented CBGb's, Tin Palace,Tier 3, Danceteria, Barnabus Rex, Trax and The Mudd Club....After many years in the 80's working as an architectural designer and car courier.. He returned to the music arena in the early 90's sighting Bill Graham and Mickey Ruskin as catalysts. He launched a search late 1991 which culminated in the development of the Cooler in the meat market on 416 West 14th Steet. Opening in September 1993 The Cooler was an out of the box Performance venue/salon featuring all genres of music, Spoken word, DJ culture and Video Arts.
